The Five College Consortium consists of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst,
Amherst College, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, and Hampshire College. The
Consortium was formed in the late 1960s. The other four schools helped create
Hampshire. Their ongoing support has helped to make Hampshire what it is today.
Cooperation abounds among the members of the Consortium, extending to
many shared educational, athletic, and cultural programs and facilities, including
libraries and museums. Veridian Village is partnering with Museums10, which links ten museums in the area, including the seven museums of the Five Colleges.
Because Veridian Village is in the exact geographic
center of the Five College area, residents will have easy reach
beyond the Hampshire campus. |
